It’s “All About My Home” Day!
Room maps, house paintings, scavenger hunts…it’s so fun to see how our kids express their understanding of home and for us to learn what makes it feel homey for them.
Keep reading below for all the activities and ideas for today!
Are you new to these monthly themes? No worries! You can join our FB group at any time and print out the Me & My World September Calendar to get started! Just scroll to the bottom of this post and pop your email in so I can send the free calendar to you.

Day #4. All About My Home Day!
Here is some of what we are planning to do today! 🙂 Did you want to download and print out everything for this month? You now can! Grab the Me & My World Activity Bundle here!
This 98-page PDF bundle comes with every printable you’ll need for this month PLUS extra printables like a master supply list, suggested reading list, themed snack photos, grocery list, and a teacher guide for each day! It is great for saving time by downloading and printing everything all at once! You’ll also receive a Me & My World bookmark and punch card for your kids to use as they move through each themed day. 🥰
Activities
IMPORTANT NOTE: In the past, I’ve offered most items for free for 24 hours, on each themed day. I will still be giving away some freebies here and there, but most printables will stay exclusive for those who purchase the monthly bundle.
Why the change? There have been some concerns with a few individuals taking advantage of everything in my store being free at one point. For that reason, I need to make a change and protect my shop and whichever activities I did spend a lot of my time on creating. Thank you for understanding and for helping support me as I put time into making these themes! If you are unable to purchase the monthly bundle, I would definitely still love to have you tag along and use the snack ideas, YouTube educational video links, and read aloud book links! And as I mentioned above, there will still be occasional freebies too! ❤️
#1. Home is a Window Craft
Choose and print out a house for your student to color or paint. They can draw or glue pictures in the windows once finished (optional). This activity goes along great with one of the suggested books for today (so you might want to read that first before completing this craft).
#2. FREE – Treasure Hunt Home Riddles
Celebrate your space by setting up a riddle-themed treasure hunt for your kids! You can print out the home riddles here!
#3. My Home & Neighborhood Flipbook Pages
Have your student fill out the “My Home” and “My Neighborhood” pages of their flipbook.
Snack
Using pretzel sticks, cheese, broccoli, an orange slice, and raisins (or nuts), build a snack version of your house.
Books
(Note: Some of the books this month are new to me, so be sure to skim it beforehand if you want to make sure it’s something your family values align with).
Today’s books are: “If I Built a House” and “Home is a Window”.
If you couldn’t grab these books from the library or store, here are some read-aloud options on YouTube!
Do You Have More Time? Here Are Some Extra Ideas!
#1. My Room Diorama
Provide small boxes (like shoe boxes) and craft materials for your student to create a diorama of their own room. They can use colored paper, fabric scraps, and mini furniture to represent their bed, desk, toys, and other personal items. This helps them think about their personal space and what makes it special to them.
#2. Neighborhood Map Craft
Have your student draw a simple map of their neighborhood on a large sheet of paper. They can include their home, nearby landmarks, friends’ houses, parks, and other important places. For older students, encourage them to use symbols and a legend to explain what each feature represents.
#3. “Home Sweet Home” Poetry Writing
Encourage your student to write a short poem about their home. They can use a template like an acrostic poem with the word “HOME” or write a free verse poem describing their favorite things about where they live. Add an illustration to go along with their poem for a visual touch.
I hope your students enjoyed today! 💙 If you need to print out the Me & My World Calendar still, go ahead and drop your email below so that I can send it right over!
PS: Come back tomorrow for the “All About City” blog post! 🙂
