Day #13. Acorn Day!
This is what we plan to do today! 🙂 Did you want to download and print out everything for this theme? Grab the Fall School Activity Bundle here!
This 120-page PDF bundle comes with every printable you’ll need for this month PLUS extra printables like a master supply list, suggested reading list, themed snack photos, grocery list, and a teacher guide for each day! It is great for saving time by downloading and printing everything all at once! You’ll also receive a Fall School bookmark and punch card for your kids to use as they move through each themed day. 🥰
Activities
IMPORTANT NOTE: In the past, I’ve offered most items for free for 24 hours, on each themed day. I will still be giving away some freebies here and there, but most printables will stay exclusive for those who purchase the monthly bundle. There have been some concerns with a few individuals taking advantage of everything in my store being free at one point and downloading printables while they are free only to turn around and sell for their own profit.
For that reason, I need to make a change and protect my shop and whichever activities I did spend a lot of my time on creating. Thank you for understanding and for helping support me as I put time into making these themes! If you are unable to purchase the monthly bundle, I would definitely still love to have you tag along and use the snack ideas, YouTube educational video links, and read aloud book links! And as I mentioned above, there will still be occasional freebies too! ❤️
#1. Acorn Life Cycle Worksheet
Choose and print your worksheet here. Have your student either write or cut out and glue a word from the word box underneath each photo.
#2. Make a Silly Acorn Face!
Glue different colored pieces of torn paper onto the acorn. Cut & glue on the eyes/mouth. Do the optional writing activity, if desired!
#3. Go on a Hunt for Acorns and Test Them
Have fun hunting for acorns! After you find some, try dropping them into a jar of water to see if they sink or float!
Snack
Use a vanilla wafer, chocolate kiss, and chocolate chip to create an acorn snack! You will want to use mini wafers (or cut them down) and then use melting chocolate to attach everything.
Books
(Note: Some of the books this month are new to me, so be sure to skim it beforehand if you want to make sure it’s something your family values align with).
Today we’ll be reading: Little Acorn and Acorn Was a Little Wild.
If you couldn’t grab these books from the library or store, here are some read-aloud options on YouTube!
Do You Have More Time? Here Are Some Educational Videos!
Pick and choose (or watch all of) the videos below to celebrate Acorn Day a little more!
#1. Learn more about acorns and oak trees by watching this video!
#2. Watch this time-lapse video to see an oak tree start growing from an acorn!
#3. Here is a cute acorn drawing tutorial!
I hope your students enjoyed today! 🧡 If you need to print out the Fall school Calendar still, go ahead and drop your email below so that I can send it right over!
PS: Come back tomorrow for the next Fall School blog post! 🙂
