I’m so excited to kick off our preschool co-op class with an All About Me unit study! It’s so important for kids to learn how to recognize and celebrate what makes them unique and special. Plus, some of these craft ideas create the perfect mementos to look back at when the kids are older! My kids love reading through old “all about me” pages and seeing what kind of answers they gave and how those answers have changed and evolved over the years.
This activity will work for many grades and can be used in your homeschool OR in a classroom setting. I used this in both our homeschool preschool co-op class (with 8 students) and at home with my preschooler, second grader, and fourth grader.

Mini Book Craft
This printable mini-book is a one-page craft that helps kids practice coloring, scissor skills, stapling, and creating their own autobiography together. It’s really easy to make! I do suggest only letting them color with crayons or colored pencils, unless you print this out on cardstock. Since this is designed to be double-sided, if you use markers, it will bleed onto the other side. If you do want them to use markers, you could always print these out on two pages instead of one, cut out each individual page, and staple them all together in order.
This mini-book starts off with a title page, which they can color in the words 🙂
On the first page, they can practice writing their name and also create a self-portrait. On the second page, they can color in the correct bubble for their age OR they can fill in the blank (there are two different versions included in the PDF). They will be able to color their birthday cake and draw however many candles to represent their age.
On page three, they can color the crayon whatever their favorite color is! Over on page four, they can color the heart and also write down some things that they love.
Flip the page and they can color the eye whatever their eye color is. Next, on page six, they can color the food items and write down their favorites.
Finally, on page seven, they can draw a picture of their family. Or they could cut out and glue an actual photograph instead.
Once they have answered all the questions and finished coloring, simply cut straight down the middle (the blue dotted line).
Fold the top portion at the gray line (so that the title page is facing up). Then fold the bottom portion so that the #2 page is facing up. Place the bottom portion inside the top portion (see below for visual instructions).
You’ll want to make sure the numbered pages all line up 🙂 And then go ahead and staple the pages together. Be careful to not staple too far into the page or else it will limit the view of some of the pages.
I made this for my four-year old’s preschool co-op class. However, my older kids (ages ten & seven) actually asked me to print them out a copy too. I loved seeing how much fun they had with it!
You can find this mini-book here over at my TPT shop!
