Day #8. All About My Country Day!
Here is some of what we are planning to do today! 🙂 Did you want to download and print out everything for this month? You now can! Grab the Me & My World Activity Bundle here!
This 98-page PDF bundle comes with every printable you’ll need for this month PLUS extra printables like a master supply list, suggested reading list, themed snack photos, grocery list, and a teacher guide for each day! It is great for saving time by downloading and printing everything all at once! You’ll also receive a Me & My World bookmark and punch card for your kids to use as they move through each themed day. 🥰
Activities
IMPORTANT NOTE: In the past, I’ve offered most items for free for 24 hours, on each themed day. I will still be giving away some freebies here and there, but most printables will stay exclusive for those who purchase the monthly bundle.
Why this change? There have been some concerns with a few individuals taking advantage of everything in my store being free at one point. For that reason, I need to make a change and protect my shop and whichever activities I did spend a lot of my time on creating. Thank you for understanding and for helping support me as I put time into making these themes! If you are unable to purchase the monthly bundle, I would definitely still love to have you tag along and use the snack ideas, YouTube educational video links, and read aloud book links! And as I mentioned above, there will still be occasional freebies too! ❤️
#1. All About My Country Mini-Book
Read and fill out the, “All About My Country” mini-book!
#2. Play “Race Across the States” Game
Did you print out the “Race Across the States” game yesterday? If not, here is the printable game! Just print it out (preferably on cardstock) and then laminate it, if you can. Grab dice, cut out the players, and start playing! There are several ways to play, depending on the level of your student.
#3. Statue of Liberty Silhouette Art Project
Here is a fun art project for today! Have your students use white crayons to draw stars on a piece of cardstock or painting paper. Afterwards they will use watercolor paints (preferably red and blue colors) to create streaks coming out from the center of the paper. This will reveal the white stars, as the crayon wax resists the paint. Once it is finished and dry, they can cut out the statue of liberty and tape it to the middle (as shown below).
#4. My Country Flipbook Page
Have your student fill out the “My Country” page of their flipbook.
Snack
Use blueberries, raspberries, and banana slices to create the USA flag!
Books
(Note: Some of the books this month are new to me, so be sure to skim it beforehand if you want to make sure it’s something your family values align with).
Today’s books are: “F is for Flag” and “America Is”.
If you couldn’t grab these books from the library or store, here are some read-aloud options on YouTube!
Do You Have More Time? Here Are Some Extra Ideas!
#1. Here is a short interactive video from Kids Academy about the different regions of the USA!
#2. Here is an informative video about the USA and the states from Miacademy!
#3. Does your kids like singing along with songs to memorize facts? Here is a music video to help remember the states and capitals!
#4. Here is another sing-along video that is designated just to learning the state name themselves!
I hope your students enjoyed today! If you need to print out the Me & My World Calendar still, go ahead and drop your email below so that I can send it right over!
