Day #7. All About My State Day!
Here is some of what we are planning to do today! 🙂 Did you want to download and print out everything for this month? You now can! Grab the Me & My World Activity Bundle here!
This 98-page PDF bundle comes with every printable you’ll need for this month PLUS extra printables like a master supply list, suggested reading list, themed snack photos, grocery list, and a teacher guide for each day! It is great for saving time by downloading and printing everything all at once! You’ll also receive a Me & My World bookmark and punch card for your kids to use as they move through each themed day. 🥰
Activities
IMPORTANT NOTE: In the past, I’ve offered most items for free for 24 hours, on each themed day. I will still be giving away some freebies here and there, but most printables will stay exclusive for those who purchase the monthly bundle.
Why this change? There have been some concerns with a few individuals taking advantage of everything in my store being free at one point. For that reason, I need to make a change and protect my shop and whichever activities I did spend a lot of my time on creating. Thank you for understanding and for helping support me as I put time into making these themes! If you are unable to purchase the monthly bundle, I would definitely still love to have you tag along and use the snack ideas, YouTube educational video links, and read aloud book links! And as I mentioned above, there will still be occasional freebies too! ❤️
#1. Make a Brochure for Your State
Print out this brochure template double-sided, preferably on cardstock. You’ll fold the brochure and your students can color/fill out to create a beautiful brochure for their state.
*IMPORTANT: If you purchased the bundle, there was a typo in the teacher guide that said to do this on DAY 8 instead of today. If desired, that type has now been fixed and you can re-download the updated version.
#2. Fill Out The State Worksheet
Research and fill out this worksheet today about your state!
#3. My State Flipbook Page
Have your student fill out the “My State” page of their flipbook.
#4. Play “Race Across the States” Game (Optional)
This printable game would be a great bonus activity to do TODAY or TOMORROW! Just print it out (preferably on cardstock) and then laminate it, if you can. Grab dice, cut out the players, and start playing! There are several ways to play, depending on the level of your student.
Snack
Make a sandwich and cut it into the shape of your state. Place a blueberry where your student lives to show where they are in the state!
Books
(Note: Some of the books this month are new to me, so be sure to skim it beforehand if you want to make sure it’s something your family values align with).
Today’s book is: “The Scrambled States of America” (and you can also grab any book about YOUR specific state too!)
If you couldn’t grab this books from the library or store, here is the read-aloud option on YouTube!
Do You Have More Time? Here Are Some Extra Ideas!
#1. Watch some videos over on YouTube about YOUR specific state!
#2. Have students use building blocks, Legos, or craft materials to recreate famous landmarks from your state, like bridges, monuments, or notable buildings. Older students could spend some time researching the structures before building!
#3. Using salt dough or clay, your student could sculpt a 3D map of your state! Encourage them to include rivers, mountains, valleys, or other notable geographical features. After drying, they can paint and label the map as well!
I hope your students enjoyed today! If you need to print out the Me & My World Calendar still, go ahead and drop your email below so that I can send it right over!
