My oldest and youngest have both been looking forward to this day! Little man LOVES foxes and as for my oldest, Arctic foxes are one of her favorite animals. ❤️

Day #5. Arctic Fox Day!
Here is some of what we are planning to do on Friday! 🙂
Activities
IMPORTANT NOTE: These printable activities will be FREE for you to download, but only until Arctic Fox Day is over! So, make sure to download them even if you are going to do Arctic Fox Day later in the week – that way you can still snag them for free. If you could leave a review behind afterwards, that would be amazing too! THANK YOU!! 🥰❤️
#1. Arctic Fox Template
We’re starting today off with a simple project! I’m going to set out this arctic fox template and a bunch of craft supplies and let them get creative with it. Sometimes just giving them something simple like this sparks their imagination and they come up with a way to use it that I would have never thought of!
I’m imagining that they will want to color, paint, or use little pieces of white crepe paper + glue to create a 3D craft.
When they are finished, the fox could be cut out and taped to a piece of construction paper for the background too!
Older students could use a ruler and divide the Arctic fox up into sections…and then create unique designs in each section for a Zentangle art project!
#2. Label the Arctic Fox Worksheet
This Label the Arctic Fox Worksheet comes with a word bank at the bottom of the page and an answer key on the next page.
I’m going to have my kids continue to do these label worksheets after watching the educational videos (those links are below if you scroll down).
#3. Arctic Fox Handprint Craft
You’ll first want to print out this PDF for each child.
Have your kid(s) trace their hand on a piece of white cardstock (or heavier paper).
They will then cut out their hand tracing and turn it upside down. After that, they will need to cut out the face and tail of the arctic fox on the printable.
Glue the face near the thumb area and glue the tail near the pinky finger area. If they want, they could finish by gluing pieces of cotton balls to make “fur” for their Arctic Fox pet!
If this (or the above) craft project is too simple for your older child, make sure to check out the drawing tutorial video at the bottom of this post instead!
#4. Arctic Fox Mini Research Book (Writing Activity)
I made this mini book project so that my kids could have something in hand to take notes on while we watch some of the educational videos below.
I’ve found that it’s really helpful to build their listening skills and to help them pay better attention, if they have some specific information to listen for.
You will want to print these two pages DOUBLE-SIDED and flip it on the short edge. Cut once down the blue line. Fold both pieces of paper and then tuck the bottom piece into the top piece. Make sure the page numbers line up before stapling shut.
Snack
Snack time today is a Fox Clementine!
All you’ll need is a clementine, white sliced cheese (for the face, inside of the ears, and tip of the tail), small pretzel sticks for the legs, and pieces of a raisin for the feet, eyes, and nose.
If you want to turn this more into an Arctic fox that has turned white for the winter, you could try using two circle shaped pieces of white cheese instead of the clementine. 😅🥰
Books
(Note: Some of these books are new to me, so be sure to skim it beforehand if you want to make sure it’s something your family values align with).
Today we’ll be reading, “Arctic Foxes” by Emily Rose Townsend, The Arctic Fox’s Journey by Wendy Pfeffer, and “Arctic Fox: Fascinating Animal Facts for Kids” by Tyler Grady.
If you were unable to grab these books from the library or store, here are some other book options you could listen to instead! 🙂
Educational Videos
Pick and choose (or watch all of) the videos below to learn more about snowy Arctic foxes! ❄️
Do You Have More Time? Here Are Some Extra Ideas!
#1. Have your student(s) use materials from around the house (like a cardboard box, cotton for snow, blue paper for icy water, and small twigs for the tundra) to create an Arctic fox habitat.
#2. Follow along to draw this snowy owl over at Art for Kids Hub.
I hope you guys enjoyed learning about Arctic foxes! 💙 If you need to print out the Winter Calendar still, drop your email below and I’ll send it right over!
PS: Check back soon for my blog post about Arctic Hare Day! 🙂
