It’s “All About My City” Day! Time to start branching out from talking about your home/neighborhood and begin learning more about the community that they live in!

Room maps, house paintings, scavenger hunts…it’s so fun to see how our kids express their understanding of home and for us to learn what makes it feel homey for them.

Creating family trees, drawing portraits, and sharing family stories…it’s so special for children to learn about their unique family culture and where they come from!

I absolutely love to do “all about me” themes at the beginning of the year! Self-portraits, fun questionnaires, and more…it’s precious to look back on these projects and see the progression in their work (and their thoughts/what they write about themselves) throughout the years.

Welcome to the new school year! We are kicking off this month with the “My Five Senses” theme today! I feel like this is a really popular theme to do in the beginning of the school year (or at least, we’ve always done it in the first part of the school year anyways)!
