Today is a simple one – it’s all about those Christmas Cookies.π
I did find some books for us to read and a few videos to watch today, but other than that – today is easy! We’ll just be decorating cookies to give to some family and friends π
If you have already decorated cookies, you could just take a rest day and enjoy something that’s been on your family’s Christmas bucket list.
Or if you missed any previous Christmas School days, you could also go back and do those! π
Are you visiting for the first time? You are still able to grab my free Christmas school calendar! You can download it below and you can also join our Christmas School FB group here π It is full of the most wonderful mommas!
Each special day on the calendar will get itβs own blog post β full of activity directions, printables, YouTube audiobook stories, and anything else to help make this EASY on you. Because the whole point of Christmas School is to pick what your kids would enjoy the most and then just have fun together. Donβt plan to do EVERYTHING (unless you guys are feeling ambitious that day π ).

Day #15. Christmas Cookie Day!
Here is what we are planning to do on Thursday π
Just a reminder that my kids are in 4th, 2nd, and PreK grades. If you have different ages and feel like what we are doing isnβt something your kids would be interested in, feel free to scroll below! Iβll add more activity ideas at the bottom of each blog post.
Activities
#1. Decorating Christmas Cookies!
Like I said, today is pretty laid-back. I wanted a day to just enjoy Christmas music, some baking, and a little cookie decorating. π₯°
So, our main activity today is to bake cookies together!
This is a great chance to let your older kids practice some independence by following along with a recipe and using measuring tools all on their own.
And if your child is younger, this is a great chance to teach them how to use measuring cups and follow a recipe!
#2. Virtual Field Trip to a Christmas Cookie Factory
Want to watch some Christmas cookies being made in a factory? You can watch the process in this video here! Unfortunately, there are no words – but it is still pretty neat to watch how they make them!
Snack
Snack time today is EASY – just have some of the cookies you and your kids worked hard to decorate π
Books
(Note: I only skimmed these books, so be sure to skim it also if you want to make sure itβs something your family values align with).
Today weβll be reading, “Christmas Cookie Day” by Tara Knudson and “A World of Cookies for Santa” by M.E. Furman. I also added a sweet YouTube video about Christmas cookies and Jesus below.
Here are the YouTube Read Aloud links for these books π
Do You Have More Time? Here Are Some Extra Ideas!
#1. Deliver some of the cookies you decorated to family and/or friends!
#2. Watch this video to learn about the history of Christmas cookies!
#3. Do your kids want to know why we leave cookies out for Santa? Watch this video to hear more about the history of this tradition.
#4. Draw some Christmas cookies with Art for Kids Hub.
I hope you guys have a wonderful day! I canβt wait to see everything you and your kids create and do! Check back soon for my Christmas Star Day blog post (that will be the last Christmas School post for 2023!!) π
