Are you wanting a fun and easy craft to introduce the five senses? Scroll below to grab this FREE printable which is perfect for little learners!
We just did a Five Senses Unit Study in our homeschool co-op preschool and oh my goodness, this craft was so easy and fun to do!
If you have little ones who like to crumple up paper and/or use glue, this will be perfect for them!
Another idea would be to print this out on cardstock and let the students paint or stamp on the popcorn. Heck, you could even use REAL popcorn to glue on, if you think your kids would find that cooler 🙂

Five Senses Popcorn Template
You just can’t go wrong with popcorn! I was trying hard to find a simple, but engaging activity that would incorporate all the senses. I’m not sure how I decided on popcorn, but I figured it would be so fun to bring my popcorn machine to the classroom and make it with them.
And it was!
They touched the kernels before we put them in the machine and talked about the sense of touch. We counted down until we could use our sense of sound once the popcorn started popping. Of course, we finished by using our sense of sight, smell, and taste as we ate our snack 🙂
And then we did this craft as well = so that we could remember all that we had learned!
Materials Needed:
- Printer paper
- Scissors
- Glue (we used glue sticks, as pictured)
- Any color of construction paper for the background (I let each student pick the color they wanted)
- Crepe or tissue paper (I used white & yellow streamers, cut into small squares)
You (or your students) will first want to cut out the popcorn bucket and also cut a pile of small squares from the tissue paper you are using.
Next, glue that popcorn bucket on to the piece of construction paper. Then they will take *one square at a time* from the crepe papers you cut out, crumple it up, and stick it to the page above the popcorn bucket with some glue. I found it easiest to put a little glue down first before crumpling any papers.
Make sure that they only crumple and glue one piece on at a time! If they use too many pieces of paper squished together at once, it won’t stick well to the paper or hold the crumpled look.
I hope this printable brings lots of smiles into your school day! Make sure to drop your email address below to grab it – just look for the free download button 🙂
