Are your older kids curious what it looks like to save seeds? Here is a great video with several examples.
#3. Color or Paint “Watch My Plant Grow” Page for Today!
Cut out the pages in this PDF for today and color or paint! If using watercolors, have your student trace the lines with a black crayon before painting. If you have older kids, do the next version of this activity instead.
Once you are finished with all of your pages and they have all dried, you can staple them together today for your completed mini art book!
#4. Draw the “Watch My Plant Grow” Page for Today!
Do you have older students? Cut out the pages in this PDF for today and draw instead of coloring or painting the above illustration. Watch the drawing video below if your student needs an idea and/or wants to draw a tomato with seeds to harvest inside.
#5. Do a Simple Plant Crossword Puzzle!
Print this PDF and have your child highlight or circle the plant words as they find them!
#6. Themed Snack Idea
While you read (or listen to) the books below, have the garden themed snack idea below!
For today’s snack, create a “Garden Charcuterie Board”! You can use all of your favorite vegetables and fruit.
#7. Read or Listen to a Book!
(Note: Everyone has different book standards! I highly suggest skimming through any books before reading them to your kids, just to make sure it aligns with your family values first) 🩷
While you enjoy snack time, wrap things up with a garden-inspired book! You’re welcome to read any of the suggested books in the Garden School bundle, but at our house today we’ll be reading, ”Tops and Bottoms” by Janet Stevens.
If you were unable to grab the book from the library or store, here is the read aloud option on YouTube!
Do you have older kids? I suggest having them read 1-2 chapters from, “The Secret Garden”!
I hope that you and your family had a wonderful time learning together today! If you need to print out the May Calendar still, drop your email below and I’ll send it right over!
