We’ve reached the last day of Garden School and today is all about hoverflies! Originally, I was wanting to end this week with butterflies, but since we recently did a butterfly day last month, I thought I’d pick something more unique and less talked about.
Are you new to these monthly themes? No worries! You can join our FB group and print out the May School Calendar to get started! Just scroll to the bottom of this post and pop your email in so I can send it to you!
Keep reading below for Hoverfly Day activities and printables!
Day #15. Hoverfly Day!
Here is what we have planned for today! 🙂 Did you want to download and print out everything for this month all at once? You now can! Grab the Garden School Activity Pack here!
This 78-page PDF bundle comes with every printable you’ll need for this month PLUS extra printables like vocabulary cards, grocery list, master supply list, suggested reading list, and a teacher guide for each day! It is great for saving time by downloading and printing everything all at once! You’ll also receive a May School bookmark and punch card for your kids to use as they move through each themed day. 🥰
Activity Ideas
IMPORTANT NOTE: Most of these printable activities will be FREE for you to download, but only during Hoverfly Day! So, make sure to download them even if you are going to do Hoverfly Day later in the week – that way you can still snag them for free. If you could leave a review behind afterwards, that would be amazing too! THANK YOU!! 🥰❤️

#6. Themed Snack Idea
Before you read the book below, make this hoverfly-themed snack for your kids to have while they read or listen to the book!
To make this hoverfly fruit snack, you’ll need pineapple slices, apple slices, blueberries, and a couple cheerios!
#7. Read or Listen to a Book!
(Note: Everyone has different book standards! I highly suggest skimming through any books before reading them to your kids, just to make sure it aligns with your family values first) 🩷
While you enjoy snack time, wrap things up with a book! You’re welcome to read any of the suggested books in the Garden School bundle, but at our house today we’ll be reading, ”I Love Bugs” by Philemon Sturges and, “Garden Helpers” by Sarah Chauhan.
If you were unable to grab these books from the library or store, here are the read aloud options on YouTube!
Do you have older kids? I suggest having them read 1-2 chapters from, “The Secret Garden”!
I hope that you and your family had a wonderful time learning together this past month! Check back soon for my Memorial Day activity past!
