March 11th will be our first day of the St. Patrick’s Day mini-theme and we are SO excited!
You might notice that I’m posting these blogs a little bit earlier than normal this week (I’m just trying to get ahead of myself haha!). Many of these printables will still be offered for free (like normal) for 24 hours during special themed days, but until then (and until I have time to list them individually over on my TPT shop), the link will take you to the activity pack. 😊
Are you new to these monthly themes? No worries! You can join our FB group and print out the March School Calendar to get started! Just scroll to the bottom of this post and pop your email in so I can send it to you!
Keep reading below for Ireland Day activities and printables!
Day #1. Ireland Day!
Here is some of what we have planned for today! 🙂 Did you want to download and print out everything for this week all at once? You can! Grab the St. Patrick’s Day Activity Pack here!
Activities
IMPORTANT NOTE: These printable activities will be FREE for you to download, but only during Ireland Day! So, make sure to download them even if you are going to do Ireland Day later in the week – that way you can still snag them for free. If you could leave a review behind afterwards, that would be amazing too! THANK YOU!! 🥰❤️
#1. Paint a Map of Ireland
Grab this worksheet, some paint, and a piece of construction paper for the background! Your students can sponge on paint or paint it however they want. If they don’t want to cut it out, I suggest printing it out on cardstock to make it a little sturdier (probably wouldn’t hurt either way to print it out on cardstock).
#2. 3D Ireland Flag Art!
Grab a piece of cardstock or white construction paper, some glue, and crepe paper (you’ll want the colors orange, green, and white). Spread glue across the page and then add crumpled up pieces of crepe paper to create the pattern of Ireland’s flag!
#3. “Exploring Ireland” Mini Book (Activity Pack Bonus)
If you happened to grab the St. Patrick’s Day Activity Pack, you can have your kids cut out and assemble the mini-book for today! Each page comes with a writing prompt as well 😊
PS: THANK YOU so much for grabbing the activity pack. I appreciate your support so much!
Snack
Today’s snack is an Ireland flag fruit kabob (or, in my case, popsicle stick because I didn’t have skewers 😅). You’ll just need green grapes, mini marshmallows, and clementines. You could use banana slices instead of marshmallows to make it healthier. Your kids could also just make the flag pattern on the plate, instead of worrying about putting it on a skewer.
Books
(Note: Everyone has different book standards! I highly suggest skimming through any books before reading them to your kids, just to make sure it aligns with your family values first) 🩷
Today we’ll be reading, “Goodnight Dublin” by Adam Gamble, “Goodnight Ireland” by Adam Gamble, and “Ireland: A Children’s Guide to Irish Culture Exploring the Traditions, History, Foods, Language, Festivals, and Sports of the Emerald Isle” by Tara Maguire.
However, if you were unable to grab these books from the library or store, here are the read aloud options on YouTube!
