Today is all about LEPRECHAUNS! 💚
You might notice that I’m posting these blogs a little bit earlier than normal this week (I’m just trying to get ahead of myself haha!). Many of these printables will still be offered for free (like normal) for 24 hours during special themed days, but until then (and until I have time to list them individually over on my TPT shop), the link will take you to the activity pack. 😊
Are you new to these monthly themes? No worries! You can join our FB group and print out the March School Calendar to get started! Just scroll to the bottom of this post and pop your email in so I can send it to you!
Keep reading below for Leprechaun Day activities and printables!
Day #2. Leprechaun Day!
Here is some of what we have planned for today! 🙂 Did you want to download and print out everything for this week all at once? You can! Grab the St. Patrick’s Day Activity Pack here!
Activities
IMPORTANT NOTE: These printable activities will be FREE for you to download, but only during Leprechaun Day! So, make sure to download them even if you are going to do Leprechaun Day later in the week – that way you can still snag them for free. If you could leave a review behind afterwards, that would be amazing too! THANK YOU!! 🥰❤️
#1. Make a Silly Leprechaun Paper Crown (Beard Optional)
Grab this printable, markers, scissors, and tape to make this funny hat and beard! The beard isn’t attached, so you can leave it out if your kids just want the hat. You can cut out the mouth (I forgot to do that first before taking this photo haha!) or they can color it red for their lips.
#2. Make a Leprechaun Trap!
Color, cut out, and assemble this printable to create an easy little leprechaun trap! All you’ll need are some scissors, markers (or something else to color everything), and tape!
One side has a ladder going up and a hole in the roof (so that the leprechaun will fall inside the house and not be able to climb back out). If you have some fake gold coins, those would be cute to place inside as well. If not, just use the paper coins instead!
#3. Roll-A-Color Leprechaun Coloring Page
Roll a dice and color a section of the coloring page according to the number you rolled! My kids love these kind of coloring activities!
You could also print this out on cardstock and have them paint instead of color.
Snack
Today’s healthy snack is a fun Leprechaun face! You’ll need a rice cake, mini marshmallows and raisins for the eyes, green pepper for the hat, baby carrots for the beard, green grape for the nose, and a piece of red pepper for the mouth. You could swap out the rice cake with a sandwich (cut in the shape of a circle).
Books
(Note: Everyone has different book standards! I highly suggest skimming through any books before reading them to your kids, just to make sure it aligns with your family values first) 🩷
Today we’ll be reading, “How To Catch a Leprechaun” by Adam Wallace, “Pete the Cat: The Great Leprechaun Chase” by James Dean, and “The Story of the Leprechaun” by Katherine Tegen.
However, if you were unable to grab these books from the library or store, here are the read aloud options on YouTube!
Do You Have Extra Time? Here Are Some Ideas/Videos!
Pick and choose any of the videos/activities below to learn more!
#1. Have your kids asked if leprechauns are real? Here is a 2-minute video to learn more about the legend of the leprechauns (see note below).
*This video does say that, “leprechauns are NOT real, although they are good at hiding, so who really knows”. If you are letting your little ones believe in them for now, I recommend skipping this video.
#2. Here is a cute leprechaun drawing tutorial from Art for Kids Hub
#3. Here is a cute song for your little ones about leprechauns!
I hope that your kids enjoyed learning about leprechauns! 🩷 If you need to print out the March Calendar still, drop your email below and I’ll send it right over!
