Today is all about being gentle with our words and not being rude to others. It’s important to remember to speak kindly to those that we love – that’s a HUGE way that we can show our love to others!
Are you new to Valentine School 2024? No worries! You can learn more about it here and join our Valentine School FB group as well🙂 If you need to print out the Valentine School Calendar, scroll to the bottom of this post and pop your email in so I can send it to you!

Day #6. Love is Gentle Day!
Here is some of what we are planning to do on Monday! 🙂 If you purchased the Valentine School bundle, there are discussion questions included for each day. I recommend reading those beforehand or while you’re waiting on an experiment or doing an art activity!
Activities
IMPORTANT NOTE: These printable activities will be FREE for you to download, but only until Love is Gentle Day is over! So, make sure to download them even if you are going to do Love is Gentle Day later in the week – that way you can still snag them for free. If you could leave a review behind afterwards, that would be amazing too! THANK YOU!! 🥰❤️
#1. Valentine Love Potion Science Experiment
Use this science experiment for your kids to visualize how gentle actions allow things to fall into place. If we shake the bottle, the layers become mixed up and everything is cloudy. However, when we are gentle with the bottle, the layers fall into place, and you can begin to create beautiful waves and ripples. Gentle, kind words can also have this effect on our lives!
#2. Tape Resist Love Potion Art Project
Students will use this printable, paint, and washi tape to create their own love potion bottle! Students can use the washi tape to help separate the layers. Once the paint is dry, peel the tape off (the most satisfying part of these projects)!
#3. Wrinkled Heart Watercolor Craft
*FYI – this is the same download as above! Both projects are included in the download.
After reading (or listening) to, “The Wrinkled Heart“, use this printable, watercolor paint, and paintbrushes to create this! ❤️
Snack
The snack for today are some little Valentine arrows! You’ll just need mini pretzel sticks, mini marshmallows, and raspberries. Mean words are like arrows to the heart, so it’s a good reminder to choose kinds words instead! 🩷
Books
(Note: Everyone has different book standards! I highly suggest skimming through any books before reading them to your kids, just to make sure it aligns with your family values first) 🩷
Today we’ll be reading, “The Wrinkled Heart” by Tracy Hoexter, “Words and Your Heart” by Kate Jane Neal, and “Words Are Not For Hurting” by Elizabeth Verdick.
If you were unable to grab these books from the library or store, here are some read aloud options on YouTube!
Do You Have Extra Time? Here Are Some Ideas/Videos!
Pick and choose any of the videos/activities below to learn more about humility!
#1. Would you like a little Bible lesson for today? This is a great video for that!
#2. To continue the love potion theme today, here is a cute drawing tutorial!
I hope your kids enjoyed learning how important it is to be GENTLE with our words today! 🩷 If you need to print out the Valentine Calendar still, drop your email below and I’ll send it right over!
