“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking. It is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.” 1st Corinthians 13:4-8
Today is all about honesty!
Are you new to Valentine School 2024? No worries! You can learn more about it here and join our Valentine School FB group as well🙂 If you need to print out the Valentine School Calendar, scroll to the bottom of this post and pop your email in so I can send it to you!
Keep reading below for more about Love is Honest Day!
Day #9. Love is Honest Day!
Here is some of what we have planned for today! 🙂 If you purchased the Valentine School bundle, there are discussion questions included for each day. I recommend reading those beforehand or while you’re waiting on an experiment or doing an art activity!
Activities
IMPORTANT NOTE: These printable activities will be FREE for you to download, but only until Love is Honest Day is over! So, make sure to download them even if you are going to do Love is Honest Day later in the week – that way you can still snag them for free. If you could leave a review behind afterwards, that would be amazing too! THANK YOU!! 🥰❤️
#1. Valentine Burst (Elephant Toothpaste) Science Experiment
Let’s pretend to be making some honesty toothpaste! Grab the printable here and follow the instructions to create some foamy eruptions!
#2. Splatter Paint with a Toothbrush!
Students will use this printable, paint, and an old toothbrush to create this. They can paint different ways with the toothbrush (stamp, smear, etc). My kids will be splattering paint with it! To do that technique, just dip the paintbrush in some paint and then carefully pull back the bristles as you aim the toothbrush at the paper. When you let go, it’ll fling paint on the paper! Make sure to have some tablecloths, newspapers, etc laid down behind it…this technique is fun, but can get messy!
After the paint is dry, cut out the letters and glue on a piece of construction paper. ❤️
*This download is only available when you click the link above. I didn’t put it over on TPT yet (it’s been a rough week at our house with the stomach flu 🤮).
#3. Plant Honesty Coloring Page
Do your kids like to color? Here is an honesty themed coloring page for today! Just like above, you can click the link to download this without going over to my TPT shop.
Snack
The snack for today are some easy Valentine themed, no-bake, healthy cookies! You can use your own favorite no-bake cookie recipe or try what we do (I don’t measure anything for this, so you’ll have to go by how it feels/looks).
For ours, I add some peanut butter and honey to a glass bowl and warm it up in the microwave. After it is mixed together, I add quick oats until it isn’t sticky anymore (but make sure it is still moldable and can be rolled up into a ball and hold its shape). To make it Valentine themed, just add some Valentine sprinkles when you add the oats in!
Books
(Note: Everyone has different book standards! I highly suggest skimming through any books before reading them to your kids, just to make sure it aligns with your family values first) 🩷
Today we’ll be reading, “Teach Your Dragon to Stop Lying” by Steve Herman, “Finn’s Little Fibs” by Tom Percival, and, “The Berenstain Bears: Honesty Counts” by Mike Berenstain.
If you were unable to grab these books from the library or store, here are some read aloud options on YouTube!
Do You Have Extra Time? Here Are Some Ideas/Videos!
Pick and choose any of the videos/activities below to learn more!
#1. Want to add on a mini-Bible lesson/devotional? Here is another video from Douglas Talks.
#2. Do your kids enjoy drawing? Just for fun and to go along with the elephant toothpaste experiment today, here is a toothbrush & toothpaste tutorial from Art for Kids Hub!
I hope your kids enjoyed learning about honesty! 🩷 If you need to print out the Valentine Calendar still, drop your email below and I’ll send it right over!
