“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking. It is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects…” 1st Corinthians 13:4-8
Today is all about how loving others means that we stand up for them.

Day #10. Love Protects Day!
Here is some of what we have planned for today! 🙂 If you purchased the Valentine School bundle, there are discussion questions included for each day. I recommend reading those beforehand or while you’re waiting on an experiment or doing an art activity!
Activities
IMPORTANT NOTE: These printable activities will be FREE for you to download, but only until Love Protects Day is over! So, make sure to download them even if you are going to do Love Protects Day later in the week – that way you can still snag them for free. If you could leave a review behind afterwards, that would be amazing too! THANK YOU!! 🥰❤️
#1. Valentine Rainbow Science Experiment
Want to turn this experiment into a demonstration about standing up and not letting someone be a bully to others? When you are doing this, you can place a little figure or something inside to represent someone we love. I used a piece of confetti when I was testing this out. The colors that spread out from the skittles and towards the figure in the middle of the bowl are hurtful words, etc. However, when someone stands up and puts a stop to it (like when you put the heart cookie cutter in the bowl and around the figure), it can help stop the hurtful actions from reaching our loved ones.
You can repeat this experiment without the cookie cutter to see the colors spread more and also have fun using different liquids, temperatures, etc.
#2. Do An Apple Demonstration
Use some apples to do this object lesson about bullying! You can watch this together or you can watch it and then do the demonstration hands-on with your kids.
#3. Apple Art Activity
Your students can use this printable to color, paint, or use crepe paper + glue to create a 3D apple art project!
Snack
The snack for today is some oven baked apple slices with a heart cut out in the middle. ❤️ This is the recipe that I’m going to follow along with.
Books
(Note: Everyone has different book standards! I highly suggest skimming through any books before reading them to your kids, just to make sure it aligns with your family values first) 🩷
Today we’ll be reading, “The Pout-Pout Fish & The Bully-Bully Shark” by Deborah Diesen and “The Berenstain Bears: Stand Up To Bullying” by Mike Berenstain.
If you were unable to grab these books from the library or store, here are some read aloud options on YouTube!
