Day #12. Pinecone Day!
This is what we plan to do today! 🙂 Did you want to download and print out everything for this theme? Grab the Fall School Activity Bundle here!
This 120-page PDF bundle comes with every printable you’ll need for this month PLUS extra printables like a master supply list, suggested reading list, themed snack photos, grocery list, and a teacher guide for each day! It is great for saving time by downloading and printing everything all at once! You’ll also receive a Fall School bookmark and punch card for your kids to use as they move through each themed day. 🥰
Activities
IMPORTANT NOTE: In the past, I’ve offered most items for free for 24 hours, on each themed day. I will still be giving away some freebies here and there, but most printables will stay exclusive for those who purchase the monthly bundle. There have been some concerns with a few individuals taking advantage of everything in my store being free at one point and downloading printables while they are free only to turn around and sell for their own profit.
For that reason, I need to make a change and protect my shop and whichever activities I did spend a lot of my time on creating. Thank you for understanding and for helping support me as I put time into making these themes! If you are unable to purchase the monthly bundle, I would definitely still love to have you tag along and use the snack ideas, YouTube educational video links, and read aloud book links! And as I mentioned above, there will still be occasional freebies too! ❤️
#1. Pinecone Life Cycle Worksheet
Choose and print your worksheet here. Have your student either write or cut out and glue a word from the word box underneath each photo.
#2. Pinecone Process Art Project
Print this template here. Have your student use a pinecone to roll paint onto the pinecone template. Sprinkle with glitter once finished, if desired.
#3. Make a Pinecone Bird Feeder!
Make a bird feeder with a pinecone, string, peanut butter, and nuts. Be sure to research that the nuts you choose are okay for the birds in your area. Watch the video below for more ideas and instructions!
Snack
Stack vanilla wafers and cut them so each one is a little smaller. Use melted chocolate to make them stay in place. Once stuck in place, you can drizzle melted chocolate over the vanilla wafer pinecone to cover it (optional).
Books
(Note: Some of the books this month are new to me, so be sure to skim it beforehand if you want to make sure it’s something your family values align with).
Today we’ll be reading: Penguin and Pinecone and I Am Sequoia: A Pinecone’s Adventure.
If you couldn’t grab these books from the library or store, here are some read-aloud options on YouTube!
Do You Have More Time? Here Are Some Educational Videos!
Pick and choose (or watch all of) the videos below to celebrate Pinecone Day a little more!
#1. Check out what’s inside a pinecone with the SciShow Kids!
#2. Watch this time-lapse of a pine tree over 300 days!
#3. Here is a cute pinecone drawing tutorial!
I hope your students enjoyed today! 🧡 If you need to print out the Fall school Calendar still, go ahead and drop your email below so that I can send it right over!
