You can’t celebrate St. Patrick’s Day without rainbows and pots of gold!
You might notice that I’m posting these blogs a little bit earlier than normal this week (I’m just trying to get ahead of myself haha!). Many of these printables will still be offered for free (like normal) for 24 hours during special themed days, but until then (and until I have time to list them individually over on my TPT shop), the link will take you to the activity pack. 😊
Are you new to these monthly themes? No worries! You can join our FB group and print out the March School Calendar to get started! Just scroll to the bottom of this post and pop your email in so I can send it to you!
Keep reading below for Pot of Gold Day activities and printables!
Day #4. Pot of Gold Day!
Here is some of what we have planned for today! 🙂 Did you want to download and print out everything for this week all at once? You can! Grab the St. Patrick’s Day Activity Pack here!
Activities
IMPORTANT NOTE: These printable activities will be FREE for you to download, but only during Pot of Gold Day! So, make sure to download them even if you are going to do Pot of Gold Day later in the week – that way you can still snag them for free. If you could leave a review behind afterwards, that would be amazing too! THANK YOU!! 🥰❤️
#1. Pot of Gold Volcano Science Experiment
Grab this worksheet, 4 jars (or little St. Patrick’s Day pots from the Dollar Tree), baking soda, vinegar, dish soap, and gold glitter for a fun, explosive St. Patrick themed science experiment!
You’ll make it extra fun by sneaking some gold glitter into one of the containers (hide it under the baking soda) and have your kids try to figure out which container has the “secret gold” when they pour in the vinegar.
#2. Make a 3D Pot of Gold/Rainbow Craft!
You’ll need this printable, paint, paintbrushes, scissors, and glue!
First, have fun painting a background for this craft! Sponge painting would be a great option. While the paint is drying, students can cut out the printable. Once the paint is dry, glue on the colors of the rainbow (see below) and then add the pot at the end.
PS: There are two pot options, in case students want to glue on an empty pot and use gold glitter or something similar to fill in the pot.
#3. Fingerprint Pot of Gold + Rainbow Art
Use this printable, some paint, and fingertips to create this piece of art. I do recommend printing out on cardstock.
There are two options to choose from: a basic printable or you can turn this into a writing activity for your student too!
Snack
Today’s snack is a fruit rainbow! You can use whatever fruit you have on hand. I used strawberries, clementines, bananas, green grapes, blueberries, and then a bunch of mini marshmallows for the clouds.
Books
(Note: Everyone has different book standards! I highly suggest skimming through any books before reading them to your kids, just to make sure it aligns with your family values first) 🩷
Today we’ll be reading, “The Leprechaun’s Gold’ by Pamela Duncan Edwards and “Too Many Leprechauns: Or How the Pot o’ Gold Got to the End of the Rainbow” by Stephen Krensky.
However, if you were unable to grab these books from the library or store, here are the read aloud options on YouTube!
