Activity Ideas
IMPORTANT NOTE: Most of these printable activities will be FREE for you to download, but only during Spring Weather Day! So, make sure to download them even if you are going to do Spring Weather Day later in the week – that way you can still snag them for free. If you could leave a review behind afterwards, that would be amazing too! THANK YOU!! 🥰❤️
#1. Label the Spring Weather Worksheet
Download this printable and print. Write or cut out and glue words from the word bank under the correct photo.
#2. Watercolor Rainy Umbrella Painting (Blowing with a Straw Technique)
Print this template out on cardstock. Trace the umbrella with a black crayon and paint the inside of the umbrella with watercolor paint. Then use a straw to blow blue watercolor paint down the paper to look like rain.
#3. Make a Rain Cloud Science Experiment
Print out this science experiment worksheet and choose a worksheet for your child (there are four different options based on your child’s writing level and/or your preference). Follow the instructions on the teacher guide to complete the experiment! For this experiment, you’ll need shaving cream, a glass jar or cup, blue food coloring and a dropper or spoon.
#4. Read & Hang Up Vocabulary Cards
Did you grab the Spring School bundle? You can read the vocabulary words for today and color in the word (optional). Hang up the vocabulary words on the wall or display board. The vocabulary words for today are: Breeze,
Rainbow, and Sunshine.
Books
(Note: Everyone has different book standards! I highly suggest skimming through any books before reading them to your kids, just to make sure it aligns with your family values first) 🩷
Today we’ll be reading, “Worm Weather” by Jean Taft and Matt Hunt, “I See Spring” by Charles Ghigna, and “Weather in Spring” by Martha Rustard.
However, if you were unable to grab these books from the library or store, here are the read aloud options on YouTube!
PS: If you have an older child, I recommend having them read 1-2 chapters from, “Charlotte’s Web” today!
Do You Have Extra Time? Here Are Some Ideas/Videos!
