Day #14. Stocking Day!
Here is what we are planning to do today! 🙂
Just a reminder that my kids are in 4th, 2nd, and PreK grades. If you have different ages and feel like what we are doing isn’t something your kids would be interested in, feel free to scroll below! I’ll add more activity ideas at the bottom of each blog post.
Activities
#1. Crayon Resist Christmas Stocking Art
Grab this printable, a white crayon, and some watercolors to create this pretty Christmas stocking!
Have your child use the white crayon to create a design on their stocking and/or write their name at the top.
Make sure to blow/brush off any leftover residue from the crayon.

Using watercolor paint, they can now paint the stocking!
The white crayon will start to appear as it resists the paint.

Let it dry and you are done!
Or you can have your child cut it out and, using a strip of construction paper, tape a loop at the top corner of the stocking and hang it up in your house! 🥰

#2. Play the Mystery Stocking Game
This is SO EASY and simple!!
All you need to do is gather some random household items, put them in a stocking, and hold the stocking while they put their hand inside and try to guess what it is.
Try to pick weird, funny stuff for them to feel and guess!
And then if your kids are like mine, they will want to switch places and have you guess whatever they put in the stocking. 😊
Make sure to use a blindfold if your kids will have a hard time not trying to look inside while they guess!

Snack
Today we’ll be making mini tortillas in the shape of a stocking! You could also cut out a sandwich or make mini pizzas in the shape of a stocking too. 😊

Books
(Note: I only skimmed these books, so be sure to skim it also if you want to make sure it’s something your family values align with).
Today we’ll be reading, “The Legend of the Christmas Stocking” by Rock Osborne and “A Christmas Stocking Story” by Hilary Knight.
Here are the YouTube Read Aloud links for these books 🙂
